Approach and visits
I’m a cardiologist and I teach clinical pharmacology — the science of how medicines work and how they combine.
What happens at a cardiology visit
- 1
Conversation
About your symptoms, lifestyle, family history and the medicines you take.
- 2
Examination
Blood pressure, pulse, listening to the heart and lungs.
- 3
Tests
An ECG and other tests — if needed.
- 4
Plan
What happens next: treatment, tests and when to come back.
What to bring
- previous ECGs, discharge summaries and reports;
- test results — especially cholesterol and blood sugar;
- a list of all medicines and supplements with doses — or the packs themselves;
- your blood pressure diary, if you keep one;
- the questions you want to ask, written down.
